Sir, – Yanis Varoufakis has been getting a lot of coverage this week due to what Fintan O'Toole calls his "fiery denunciation" of our corporate tax policy ("Ireland is becoming the tax haven of choice for profit-shifting multinationals", Opinion & Analysis, June 16th).
Mr Varoufakis’s catastrophic stint as Greek finance minister is living proof of what happens when a Marxist ideologue leaves his ivory tower and meets the cold reality of the real world. Why anyone would treat his musings with anything other than scorn or pity is beyond belief. – Yours, etc,
