Sir, – Finn McRedmond (“Did Sally Rooney tap into the Irish zeitgeist or did she create it?”, Opinion & Analysis, May 12th) states that Sally Rooney’s novels “have thrust images of a cosmopolitan Dublin onto the global stage”.
Maybe I am missing this “zeitgeist” . The only “vibe shift” I experienced recently of Dublin city nightlife was like something from a dystopian post-apocalyptic horror movie.
However, I may be accused of confusing reality with a work of fiction. – Yours, etc,
