Sir, – I’ve just completed the Crosaire puzzle online for the first time, in just over 29 minutes. Then I looked at the leaderboards for the first time and saw that some of the leaders complete the puzzle day after day in under two minutes.
How do they manage that? I don’t see how anyone can read the clues in 91 seconds, never mind solve them and enter the solutions.
If I start the puzzle again and slap my solutions to Saturday’s clues into the grid as fast as I can, I can actually get my “solution” time down to about two minutes.
With a bit of speed-typing practice, maybe I too could end up top of the leaderboard.
