Madam, - Muiris MacConghail (Opinion, December 30th) describes the TV3 schedule as dumbed down and irresponsible. An analysis of the TV schedules for the same day shows the percentage of time allocated to home-produced programmes on TV3 is about 24 per cent. The corresponding figure for the "national broadcaster" is about 15 per cent.
Does this mean that Mr Mac Conghail regards a greater emphasis on home-produced programmes as dumbed down and irresponsible? - Yours, etc.,
