Madam, - Paul Daly (February 14th) believes that he gave your readers a "helpful" definition of faith. ("Faith is precisely the contradiction between the infinite passion of the individual's inwardness and objective uncertainty".)
As definitions go, I think that this only adds bewilderment to the matter under debate.
Any English dictionary will provide a better one, although I prefer Woody Allen's definition: "Faith is believing in what you know to be untrue". - Yours, etc,
