Sir, – In addition to regulating the rickshaws which operate in confined areas of city centres, is it not time for some regulation on the nationwide fast food deliveries undertaken by fee-earning and non-insured cyclists? The capacity to deliver food is based on the ability of some to flaunt the rules of the road (eg texting/using GPS, cycling on footpaths, cycling the wrong way on one-way streets, bad or no lights, and complete disregard for traffic lights and junctions generally).
In the event of an accident, even if an insured driver is completely blameless, it would be the motorist’s policy that will be impacted. Will it take one such accident for the Minister to take action? – Yours, etc,
