Sir, The Irish Times (News, May 2nd) reports that 125 cyclists have been issued with on-the-spot fines for not having a front or rear light after dark.
Why not introduce similar fines for people who drive with faulty or missing headlamps or indeed for those who drive with fog lamps permanently on regardless of weather conditions.
There is no shortage of these on our roads.
