Madam, - The suggestion by Charlie O'Connor, TD (The Irish Times, June 9th) that unclaimed change on refund tickets held by Dublin Bus be put towards creating better access for the handicapped and disabled people is a clear admission that such services are inadequate.
Funding for the less fortunate in society should not in any way be dependent upon unclaimed refund bus tickets.
This State is awash with money - as was demonstrated recently by the Minister for the Environment, Martin Cullen, when more than €50 million of taxpayers' money was wasted on an electronic voting system. - Yours, etc.,
NIAMH COOPER, Delaford Lawn, Knocklyon, Dublin 16.
