Sir, – And even the ranks of Tipperary could scarce forbear to cheer. – Yours, etc,
DAVID ROUSE,
Dublin 15.
Sir, – Much will be written about Henry Shefflin in the coming days and for long after that. However, no words will do justice to Henry’s immense talent and hard work, nor could it, for his modesty would not allow it. The best we can do is to simply thank him for his contribution to Kilkenny hurling, to the GAA, and to Irish sport. He can truly wear his crown now. – Yours, etc,
CHRIS PRENDERGAST,
Shanbough, Co Kilkenny.
Sir, – It is with sorrow I read about Henry Shefflin’s decision to retire from the inter-county game.
As a Tipperary supporter, I am indeed sorry that this great player didn’t retire years ago! – Yours, etc,
GEAROID Ó FOIGHIL,
Cloughjordan,
Co Tipperary.
