Sir, - I write to correct a serious error in Kevin Myers's Irishman's Diary of March 1st.
Having referred to part of the judgment of Miss Justice Mella Carroll on the issue of costs in the case of Judge Joseph Mangan v. Independent Newspapers (Ireland) Ltd., he writes that I, as counsel for the plaintiff, "then" made a declaration to the court relating to the plaintiff's lawyers' charges.
Mr Myers is mistaken: neither "then", nor at any other time, did I make such a statement. -Yours, etc,
