Madam, - Among the defining features of Dublin City are the bridges spanning the river. One of the finest of those, Grattan Bridge, was recently refurbished. Praise is due to the city fathers for the excellent work done. But that has now been undone by allowing four large grey kiosks to be placed there. They offer all of the colour, merit and visual amenity of blockhouses or public lavatories. Sixteen masts extending high into the air above them have been fitted. To add insult to injury, these boxes are to be let for commercial purposes. Am I alone in wondering why this blot has been inflicted on the city? - Yours, etc.,
CONAN BUDDS, Newtown, Kildare, Co Kildare.
