Sir, – Recently I had the misfortune to park in St Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre in Dublin, in order to pick up my wife. I arrived at 6.28pm and left at 6.51pm. I could not believe my eyes when I was charged €7 for this. While I understand this charge is perfectly legal, it would certainly deter myself and probably others from ever parking there again. Is this what the current government means by making Ireland “more competitive”? – Yours, etc,
