Madam, - I wish to express my concerns regarding the responses of three members of Government in relation to mental health services in Ireland.
Mary Harney, Tim O'Malley and Michael McDowell express themselves as happy to sell under-utilised lands belonging to mental health services. My suspicions are that this is just a cynical exercise to raise revenue, little of which will be invested in a modern, community-based and user-oriented service.
"Planning for the Future 1984" was meant to be the template for change. I would ask these ministers to read it if they are serious about the plight of people with mental health problems. - Yours, etc,
ROBERT GRANDON,
