Madam, - My family and I have attended the Franciscan Church on Merrchant's Quay, Dublin for the Easter and Christmas liturgical celebrations for approximately 30 years. Following the refusal by the current guardian, Fr Ulic Troy, to allow a commemorative Mass there for Archbishop Romero (The Irish Times, March 26th), I will be celebrating elsewhere this Easter.
Given the strong and wonderful witness of a small number of Irish Franciscans in El Salvador over the past 40 years, I can only think how dissapointed Fr Ulic's missionary confreres will be. - Yours, etc,
