Sir, – Few people would be aware that Aifric Keogh, one of our superhero bronze medal rowers, hails from a very small village in Furbo, Co Galway, called Aillephreacain, which translates to the English as “Cliff of the Crows”.
As a very close neighbour, I congratulate Aifric and her fantastic teammates Eimear Lambe, Fiona Murtagh and Emily Hegarty on their outstanding achievement.
