Sir, – Despite recent editorials on housing policy (August 18th), and the acute situation facing many people, particularly younger people, there is still a lack of urgency from Government to do anything about this.
I recently moved from a house with a door opening directly onto a street into an apartment block, and have gone from having regular canvassing and constant literature from councillors and TDs through my letterbox to zero communication from any political party in any form.
I think politicians are blind to the constituency of apartment dwellers, and this may account for how myopic they are in dealing with issues which largely affect these people. Their sample size of who they speak to at the door warps their perception of who is living in their constituency, particularly in urban centres. – Yours, etc,
COLM DOYLE,
Dublin 7.
