Madam, - This morning I paid €155 for my TV licence, to subsidise RTÉ, a TV station I never watch, and a radio station I don't listen to.
Why I am obliged, by law, to pay this tax is beyond me.
We are not forced to pay road tax if we don't drive a car, so why pay for a TV station you don't watch?
Like the independent stations, RTÉ has income from advertising and programme sponsorship.
If it can't manage on this income, like the independents, questions should be asked as to how efficiently it is being run. - Yours, etc,
