Sir, – I see that, once again, a number of soccer players have been the victims of racial abuse on social media platforms.
Consider, if you will, if the print media were permitted to produce a couple of pages in each issue which included the random racist rants of anonymous contributors. I expect that the publishers of such newspapers or magazines would be held to account for their content.
Perhaps if social media companies, who facilitate all forms of racist and other abuse, were actually held financially responsible for the content they facilitate, they might actually do something about it. – Yours, etc,
