Madam, - While I accept the main thrust of Eddie Holt's article "Teaching an old dogma" (Weekend, February 21st), that the concept of God is beyond rationality and that the control model of religious formation needs to be examined, it's the infallible asides he seems to lob indiscriminately into his text that grate.
He says, for instance, that "rationality. . .is the antithesis of faith". It isn't. And that religions reject Darwinism. They don't.
Not everything is amenable to neat categorisation. The interface of faith and science demands that all who surf it have a healthy respect for the complexities of life. - Yours, etc.,
