Sir, – You recently published a suggestion from Eddie Molloy (April 14th) that the money which I and others paid in good faith for water charges should be diverted rather than refunded. I would like to object strongly to any such ideas. I paid money reluctantly but in good faith for use by Irish Water on our water supply system. Like it or not, Ireland needs an effective water authority with sufficient ring-fenced funding to function. Give my money back to me or use it on the water system. – Yours, etc,
