Seagulls, the Commonwealth and the Seanad

Sir, – Senator Frank Feighan would like Ireland to consider rejoining the Commonwealth while Senator Paul Coghlan has suggested a repulsive spray to stop seagulls tearing open rubbish bags (Seanad Report, June 22nd).

It’s great to see the Seanad back in full swing and continuing to offer ample reason for its abolition. – Yours, etc,
