Madam - Your Editorial of June 10th, "Crisis in Sudan", is an accurate summary of the situation in that most unfortunate land. I agree entirely with your conclusion that the world must now respond.
The solution to the problem is political and not military but, with Nelson Mandela having retired from international affairs, the world is bereft of a statesman with the qualities needed to inspire the world to action to save lives.
We may therefore have to accept that hundreds of thousands of people are going to die because the world simply lacks the moral fibre to prevent it. - Yours, etc.,
