Madam, - Now that King William has become our latest celebrity, it was nice timing by the National Museum to reveal that it has his gloves (Weekend Review, May 12th).
I suppose they are made of velvet, and that they will be put on display as soon as the restorers can remove those stubborn rust-stains from the inside. Will the museum please confirm?
For the sake of balance, the museum staff should go back to the store-rooms to find something belonging to King James. Are his running shoes not in there somewhere? - Yours, etc,
