Madam, - We would like to congratulate Rebekah Browner and her classmates at Holy Child School Killiney, who ably represented Ireland at a Euroscola programme in the European Parliament in Strasbourg last month ("Circle of power", Transition Times, April 18th).
Any secondary school in Ireland may apply to participate in this subsidised programme, which offers fourth- and fifth-year students an opportunity to gain an insight into European politics and the work of MEPs. Over the past five years, students from more than 100 Irish schools north and south of the border have taken part, and have frequently distinguished themselves among their European counterparts.
