Madam, - Brendan McWilliams's swallows may have departed for sunnier climes a month ago but up here in west Cavan there are still lots of them around every day, performing their usual aerial acrobatics at furious speeds, wheeling and diving kamikaze style and generally beating the place up.
Why haven't they got the message? Are they borderline cases?
Perhaps there are some who renege on that 6,000-mile journey, preferring to live out old age inhaling the fresh breezes off Cuilcagh. - Yours, etc,
