Sir, – This weekend marks the end of the meeting in Rome of the synod on the family. It seems that the German-speaking bishops have been unanimous in promoting change but that the other groups cannot agree on any pastoral changes. It will now be up to Pope Francis to exercise his pastoral leadership and realise his vision to create a more inclusive and just church. – Yours, etc,
