Not even private property is safe from this scourge. Dublin City Council is spending a fortune on upgrading the Grand Canal but seems blind to the fact that the canal walls are defaced with offensive markings.

Find the culprits and make them clean up their own mess. It's not rocket science; they leave their signatures. First it's graffiti, then it's thievery, public disorder, and only a short step to full-scale rioting. Whatever happened to "zero tolerance"?
