Madam, - There is much discussion of the salary and bonus paid to one top bank executive in Ireland. Perhaps a comparison is in order.
Bearing in mind that Ireland is working hard to build a knowledge-based economy, you would have thought that the leaders of our universities and institutes would be well rewarded. Well, the amount paid to the top bank executive would just about cover the salaries of all the heads of our universities and institutes combined. - Yours, etc,
