Sir, – I am writing as a scuba diver based in Greystones, Co Wicklow. We are finding dog dirt bags underwater on our dives. These are thrown into the sea as an easy way of getting rid of them. However, those plastic bags take hundreds of years to decay. Please could dog owners think of the damage they are doing to our native species and the marine environment. It is adults doing this. Children know better. – Yours, etc,
