Sir, – Has anyone tried to influence President Donald Trump regarding a possible alternative to sending up to 15,000 troops to the Mexican border to stop the huge caravan of migrants from Guatemala, Honduras and the other countries (World News, November 1st)?
Surely a more admirable and less costly alternative would be to put all the US’s enormous diplomatic and persuasive resources into working with the various governments in curing the root causes of this mass migration and thus solve the problem at source? – Yours, etc,
