Sir, - In his article "Nothing stolen but our sense of security" (Features, April 23rd), Conor Pope gives details of 10 serious assaults.
Five of these were reported to the Garda, which appears to have taken no action. The other five were apparently not reported at all. From what I can gather, nobody was arrested or charged with any of these crimes.
No wonder Mr Zero Tolerance can claim that crime figures are down. - Yours etc.,
