Sir, – David Nisbet's complaint about his Irish Times home delivery arriving in a battered condition (August 29th) has been met with less than sympathy by some readers. John Bergin recommends the online option, though writing from Wirral he would seem to have no other choice, whereas Alan Brophy, also writing from the UK, suggests having one's butler read it aloud.
My preferred option is a mixture: I receive the complete online edition along with the Saturday print copy, delivered, unwrinkled, all for €20 per month.
It is a small allocation of hedonism to wander downstairs on a Saturday morning, collect the paper in the hallway and read the headlines as breakfast is cooking. It is also serendipitous, as Saturday is the butler’s day off. – Yours, etc,
