If you’ve bought a home in a new housing scheme in Ireland in the past five years, we’d like to hear from you. We want to know what went right and what went wrong – and what advice you’d give to someone else aiming to buy a new-build home. Please consider the following in your response:

Did you apply to government financial aid schemes such as Help to Buy or the First Home Scheme, for example, and how did the process go for you?

How much research did you do on the development and its location before moving in? Did you buy off plans or go to an open viewing?

Were you surprised by anything about your home or the development once you moved in?

Is there anything you would do differently if you were to do it again?

Please make your comments as specific (and brief) as possible, focusing on key pieces of advice you would give to a friend or family member in the same situation.

We intend to use a selection of responses to publish an article sharing your advice with prospective new-home buyers. Please provide a name and phone number for verification purposes. If you would prefer to remain anonymous, please indicate this in your submission – we will keep your name and contact details confidential.
