The National Procurement Awards set the benchmark for excellence in the Irish procurement profession.

Launched in 2010, The National Procurement Awards offer companies the opportunity to network, showcase and collaborate. With a diverse and wide range of entries from across the country 14 trophies were presented on the night to well deserving winners.

Kevin Cronin, senior category strategy manager at Pfizer spoke about their success on the night. “Winning the award for the ‘Best Cross Function Collaboration Project’ was fantastic but winning the ‘Overall Excellence in Procurement’ award was just amazing. Taking time out to celebrate and recognise our achievements in the company of our stakeholders made the night even more enjoyable.”

The Procurement Leader Award, sponsored by Greenville Procurement Partners, was received by Brian Murphy, director and former chief executive of the National Development Finance Agency (NDFA), in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the procurement profession in Ireland. “I was very honoured to accept the Procurement Leader Award 2017 as it represents a public recognition of the valuable contribution to effective public capital procurement by the NDFA team and its public-sector client entities through an often-difficult period for the Irish economy”.

Each submission was reviewed by an independent judging panel of professionals from within the procurement and supply chain industry. Moderated by judging coordinator Wayne Dignam, the panel also featured Gerard McNamara, chief executive Schuman Associates, Angelyn Rowan - partner, construction and projects, Eversheds Sutherland, Tonia Spollen-Behrens - senior market adviser, public procurement department, Enterprise Ireland, Eoin Lonergan - procurement Lead, EY, Jeanne Copeland - chief executive, Greenville Procurement Partners, Hilda Collins - senior category strategy manager for indirects, Pfizer and David McKevitt - Cork University Business School.

"We really valued being one of the key sponsors for this year's National Procurement Awards and enjoyed a wonderful evening. As a corporate Travel Management Company (TMC), we work closely with procurement professionals who are responsible for analysing the cost of travel expenditure within the business and evaluate the many benefits that can be achieved for their business by partnering with a TMC. It was a pleasure to celebrate the achievements of the finalists and award winners on the night." Lisa O'Carroll, business development manager, FCM Travel Solutions.
