Earliest golfing memory?
Watching people playing at Castlebar Golf Club in the early 1960s. I was only a nipper at the time, but I can remember it clearly.
First golfing victory?
I won a leg of lamb in Mulranny Golf Club in Co Mayo many, many moons ago.
First time to break 90?
It was at the Captain's Prize in 1985 in Castlebar.
Last bit of golf equipment you bought?
A Wilson Deep Red. Stiff. Nine-degree loft.
Last time you took a golf cart and why?
It was during the Oireachtas golf competition a couple of years ago on the course at Glasson Golf Club in Co Westmeath. We were very short on time. It was a terrible day for me golfing-wise.
Last time you uttered an on-course obscenity and why?
The last time I played. Things just weren't going my way.
Which of the Majors would you like to attend and why?
I'd love to go to the British Open. I've attended the Masters previously and it was fantastic but the British Open is definitely on my "must see" list.
Ideal golfing fourball: who and where?
Pádraig Harrington, Paul McGinley, Dick Willis and myself. And anywhere would be perfect with that grouping.
One last round on earth: where would it be?
Probably Carne Golf Club in Mayo. But Castlebar Golf Club is across the road, so that might allow us get in a second round of 18 holes if we're lucky!
Ralph Lauren or Lyle & Scott?
I'm really not into golf fashion. I wear what is comfortable and appropriate.
Is the Titleist ProV1 worth the extra expense?
Only if you hit the ball straight.
Best golf-club food. Where?
Paul's Hut on Killeen in Killarney. But if I'm really hungry anywhere will do.
140 yards from the green. Flat and calm. What's in your hand?
A 9 iron.
Favourite club in times of trouble? Rescue.
Parkland or links?
To be honest, I love them both and have no preference.
Must-see golfing holiday destination?
Probably Hawaii. Spectacular.
Hidden gem of a course?
The Great Southern Hotel at Parknasilla in Sneem, Co Kerry.
One Mulligan in life?
At the Road Hole, St Andrews.
