Basketball: Ballina will host Tralee Tigers tomorrow in the National Cup quarter-final, billed as a replay of the All-Ireland football final, with two key actors from that day, Ronan McGarrity and Kieran Donaghy, expected to renew acquaintances but this time in a more familiar indoor arena.
Although Donaghy is on Kerry duty in Manchester, he is expected to make it back.
The Tigers' American Dave Fanning is, however, struggling with an ear infection and may depart for home.
Ballina are slight favourites after recording their first double-header victories last weekend when McGarrity shot an impressive 45 points over two games.
Coach Terry Kennedy is expected to welcome Deora Marsh back from injury.
"Deora is a player who enjoys playing in Cup games more than most," said Kennedy. "In all my years coaching him I have never seen him play a bad cup game.
"We will be hoping he recovers from his injury for Saturday and, if he's fit enough, will a have a big say on the outcome of the game."
Elsewhere, Northern Conference leaders Shamrock Rovers Hoops meet the Cup holders, UCC Demons, tomorrow night.
Hoops have had an excellent start to the season but lost two of their last three games. In contrast, the Demons have just hit a rich vein of form.
The Cork club's new signing, Benito Flores, accumulated 24 points and 11 rebounds on his debut last week.
Last year's finalists the Limerick Lions entertain St Vincent's in the UL Arena, where Jermaine Turner is expected to reregister for the Dublin club by tomorrow.
Basketball Ireland are awaiting clearance from Romania, where Turner was playing until recently.
"We played Vincent's in Dublin last month and came away with a great win," said Limerick coach Tom Hehir.
"But now that Vincent's have added some players, we won't be taking anything for granted. If we get Limerick playing to their potential then I believe we can win this game."
In the fourth quarter-final, Killester make the long trip to Killarney to take on St Paul's, with Damien Sealy returning from injury for the Dublin club.
"It certainly won't be easy," said Killester coach Mark Keenan. "There is no doubt that they miss Eoin O'Brien but Ger Noonan was excellent in the last game."
