New Australian coach Eddie Jones believes the world champions can improve still further and he plans to train them to an even greater intensity.
Jones took over this week from Rod Macqueen, who stepped down after leading the Wallabies to victory in the third and deciding Test against the British and Irish Lions last weekend.
In his four-year stint, Macqueen also guided Australia to triumphs in the World Cup, Bledisloe Cup and Tri-Nations series.
Jones will put his 28-man squad to work in Perth from today in preparation for their opening Tri-Nations match against South Africa in Pretoria tomorrow week.
"The area we will really be concentrating on is our training performance," said Jones, who coached the ACT Brumbies to victory in the Super 12 final in May.
"We really want to train with great intensity, not necessarily for long periods of time, but with greater intensity. Hopefully then that will transfer into better game performance.
"Although the result against the Lions was good, I'm sure the whole team would agree they can play much better - and that's going to be our target."
Jones must tackle South Africa without outhalf Stephen Larkham, who missed the third Test against the Lions with a shoulder injury.
