So Swim Ireland have finally decided to stop butting heads with Grattan Swimming Club. The club was set up to ensure, as far as it is possible, that codes of conduct regarding children's affairs were observed in the new association. Swim Ireland objected to this and refused to accept the club's affiliation fees, primarily because Grattan would not sign up to certain regulations in Swim Ireland which they believed did not follow the guidelines set out by the Government-commissioned Murphy Report.
Well that appears to be forgotten and the club will be allowed to offer over their money (£148) for the privilege of joining the organisation they once so strongly objected to. It appears they may also be allowed to attend today's a.g.m. in Dublin.
