Cavan ended their three-match National League losing sequence when they overcame Tipperary in this Division 2B game at Breffny Park yesterday.

Cavan struggled in the early stages and were fortunate to trail only 0-7 to 0-5 at halftime. However, they stepped up the pace in the second half and eventually got the match-winning scores from Ronan Carolan and Larry Reilly.

In a disappointing first half, in which the standard of play fell well below expectations, Tipperary displayed a lot more aggression but they wasted the chance to take a more emphatic halftime lead through poor shooting.

With Cavan backed by the wind in the second half points from Gerry Sheridan, Michael Graham and Larry Reilly in the opening five minutes gave them a 0-8 to 07 lead. Although Declan Browne levelled the scores in the 10th minute, it proved to be Tipperary's lone second half score.
