Colleges football: All-Ireland champions Knockbeg College are out of the championship after succumbing to an injury-time goal at Silverpark yesterday as Coláiste Eoin progressed to the quarter-finals of the Leinster championship.
With Knockbeg winning the breaking ball around the middle, Coláiste Eoin played second fiddle to their opponents early on. Coláiste Eoin did counter with two frees from Seán Ó Seanáin to cut Knockbeg's lead to three at the break.
The Carlow side took up the running once more with a fisted point from Donal Kingston establishing a 0-11 to 0-5 lead.
Coláiste Eoin substitute Jack Ó Giollagáin pointed two scoresbefore Kingston sent over a free in the third minute of injury time to open a three-point lead.
Lúc Céitinn responded with a score from a placed ball before Marc Ó Cochláin drove a low shot into the bottom corner of the net for a dramatic victory.
