US TOUR: An impressive front nine holes paved the way for KJ Choi to win the Memorial tournament in Ohio yesterday.
The South Korean, who started the fourth round five strokes off the pace, picked up six birdies on the front nine to charge to the front in ideal conditions at Muirfield Village.
Choi finished on 17-under 271, one ahead of former US amateur champion Ryan Moore (66).
It is the fifth PGA Tour victory for 37-year-old Choi.
US TOUR: After a record marathon play-off at rain-drenched Hilton Templepatrick yesterday evening, Lisa Hall from England won the €200,000 Northern Ireland Ladies Open tournament.
It took eight extra holes to split the winner and French woman Gwladys Nicora after they finished the 54-hole event locked at two-under-par 214.
It was the longest play-off in the history of the Ladies European Tour as the pair played the 18th hole six times, then the first and, finally, the 18th again.
CHALLENGE TOUR:England's Ross McGowan secured his maiden professional victory after a play-off against Frenchman Michael Lorenzo-Vera at the European Challenge Tour's Oceanico Developments Pro-Am Challenge.
McGowan (25) made sure of victory with a par four at the second sudden-death play-off hole to secure the first prize of €23,600.
US OPEN QUALIFYING: Darren Clarke and Paul McGinley will tee it up today in the US Open's 36-hole qualifying tournament at Walton Heath in Surrey.
Just over 50 players are left to compete for at most nine spots next week at Oakmont.
