News:The Derry City board was last night said to be waiting on a decision from Pat Dolan as to whether he intends to accept the opportunity to succeed Pat Fenlon as manager at the Brandywell.
Dolan, who has combined a number of advisory roles with a growing amount of television work since being sacked by Cork City a couple of years ago, attended training yesterday morning after arriving in the city on Saturday evening. It is believed the broad terms of a financial deal have been agreed but it remains unclear as to whether the 39-year-old is willing to take on the role.
Meanwhile, having come from behind to earn a replay against Galway on Friday night thanks to two late goals from Conor Gethins and Stephen Parkhouse, Finn Harps will be without Eloka Asokuh and Marc Brolly for this evening's FAI Cup replay.
"I still think Galway will be the favourites to win the tie," says Harps manager Paul Hegarty, who will be back in the dugout tonight after serving a suspension, "but I think they probably underestimated us a bit on Friday night, what with them being the Premier Division team. They'll be well prepared for the replay, though, and being a full-time club, they'll be well rested while our boys will be working on Monday after which they'll have to go to play the match."
Hegarty doesn't rule out his own side's chance to progress. "We can pat ourselves on the back for a job half done or we can go and finish the job off. We have achieved nothing yet because we aren't through, but in saying that, if we get our attitude right we can get into the next round."
Galway United defender John Lester, who was suspended for Friday's game, is available this evening.
