St Patrick's Athletic completed the signing of their second African international yesterday when Pat Dolan recruited Zimbabwe's Tostao Kwashi from Vauxhall Conference club, Gravesend at Northfleet.

The 22-year old right-sided midfielder, who has been capped eight times at senior international level, goes straight into the squad for tomorrow night's Premier Division game against Derry City.

Also expected to be in the Dublin club's panel for the meeting with the cup winners is former Ireland youth international striker Ryan Casey,

Casey has been training with the Inchicore club this week with a view to signing by today's transfer deadline.

Dolan, meanwhile, said that a number of the club's current panel may go out on loan today and there is speculation that at least one will go to Shamrock Rovers as part of an exchange deal that would involve former St Patrick's defender Stephen McGuinness returning to Emmet Road.

Elsewhere Derry manager Kevin Mahon was continuing his efforts to bring in a striker as a replacement for David Kelly, but the club denied any interest in Shamrock Rovers' Sean Francis who is expected to move today after becoming unhappy with his lack of first team opportunities at the club.

UCD, Drogheda United, and Longford Town are all believed to have been in touch with Liam Buckley regarding the availability of the striker.
