Interprovincial Football Championship Preview: This contest has a decent look to it. Connacht manager John O'Mahony has drafted eight Mayo players into a 26-man panel while opposite number Ger O'Sullivan has named six from the All-Ireland champions Kerry, including one Kieran Donaghy.

Victory tonight will present several players with a difficult decision: play for the province in the M Donnelly Interprovincial final in Canton, Boston, on October 22nd or represent Ireland on Seán Boylan's International Rules panel.

"It's been such a maze of negotiations to get this panel together this week that I think we will just take it one jump at a time," said O'Mahony of the clash with club championships and the International Rules.

Eight of O'Mahony's panel - he will name a team today - have been released from Boylan's preliminary squad. That includes Ciarán McDonald and Alan Dillon. David Heaney will captain the team and may even be reacquainted with Donaghy, who he unsuccessfully marked in the All-Ireland final.

Another notable inclusion is Ballina's David Brady, despite his recent retirement from inter-county football.

O'Mahony also has a healthy nine-strong presence from Galway, but must plan without key Leitrim and Roscommon contributors like Karol Mannion and Gary Cox because of county finals on Sunday.

O'Sullivan named six players from Munster champions Cork, while Tipperary goalkeeper Paul Fitzgerald, Gary Hurney of Waterford and Seán Buckley from Limerick make up the county spread. Colm Cooper and the Ó Sé brothers (Darragh is getting married tomorrow) are notable absentees from the squad.
