News Round-up: Donegal are to contest the switching of their Ulster championship match with Armagh from Ballybofey to Clones. The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the county executive on Thursday night.
This was prompted by the Ulster Council's vote to make the switch on capacity grounds. Clones holds 33,000, while the other venue had a limit of 19,000.
Meanwhile, the death has taken place of legendary Tyrone footballer Frankie Donnelly, aged 73. Top scorer in the county's Ulster title victories in 1956 and '57, he also holds the record for a scoring total in intercounty football, 4-11 in a Lagan Cup match against Fermanagh. He won an All-Ireland junior title in 1968, a Railway Cup medal and four county titles with Carrickmore.
