Navan Preview: Normally, an eve-of-Christmas meeting like today's at Navan would be described as being an opportunity for some holiday expenses but, apart from Dosco in the handicap hurdle, prudence could be the best bet of all.
It may be worth making an exception for the Dessie Hughes-trained horse, as he looks thrown in on his best chase form.
Dosco won a three-mile chase off a mark of 109 on his last start, but he runs today off 84. Much of his form over the smaller obstacles isn't great, but his sole handicap start wasn't too bad last February, and since he is clearly in form he may be up to taking advantage of his mark.
The day's other betting proposition may be Arthur Moore's Cabanas, who has ground to make up on Old Parish from course form behind Aran Concerto but also looks like a horse to progress enough to land the second maiden hurdle.
Khetaam could give the Durkan Chase favourite, Glenfinn Captain, a form boost in the Beginners Chase, although the Tony Martin chase newcomer, After Midnight, a hurdles winner at Cheltenham, looks one to keep an eye on.
