DOWN LOOK certain to have lost midfielder and captain Dan Gordon for Saturday's Ulster football quarter-final replay against Tyrone. Gordon sustained a broken thumb in Sunday's draw at Omagh. He played the second half with the thumb heavily strapped but faces a four to six-week layoff.
Ambrose Rodgers, who made a huge impact as a second-half substitute, is the obvious candidate to take over.
Tyrone have injury problems of their own, with wing forward Enda McGinley also looking certain to miss out after suffering a mild concussion the last day, while fellow forward Colm Cavanagh is trying to shake off an ankle injury. Wing back Davy Harte suffered a broken nose after a high tackle early in the second half, although he hasn't yet been ruled out.
Cork have left both James Masters and Michael Cussen out of the team for their Munster football semi-final against Limerick - and will start with just seven of the team that lined out in last September's All-Ireland final.
Defenders Diarmuid Duggan and Brian O'Regan will make their championship debuts, as will Alan O'Connor, who will start at midfield alongside Nicholas Murphy. Other starters include Paudie Kissane and Seán O'Brien, who have been on the panel for a while - while John Hayes and Daniel Goulding are chosen in the attack ahead of Masters and Cussen.
Meanwhile, Dublin make two changes from their quarter-final win over Westmeath for Saturday's Leinster hurling semi-final with Wexford at Nowlan Park (4.15). Declan O'Dwyer and Ross O'Carroll come into the forward line in place of Declan Qualter and Peadar Carton.
Forward Stephen Nolan is Wexford's main injury worry. Nolan is troubled with thumb ligament damage, although manager John Meyler is still likely to play him, and the latter will announce his team this evening.
