ALL-IRELAND LEAGUE/News round-up: Dungannon will be citing St Mary's second row Gareth Logan following last Saturday's All-Ireland League Division One match at Templeville Road, which saw St Mary's dramatically come back from 23-0 down at half-time to win the match in injury time.
Mike Haslett, the Dungannon back row forward, had his jaw broken in two places in an incident late in the first half of the match, which Dungannon claim was caused by a punch.
Haslett, a former Irish under-21 and Cambridge player and son of current Irish under-21 team manager Davy, left the pitch after 28 minutes.
Neither the referee, Donal Courtney, nor the touch judges saw the alleged incident. Dungannon, who confirmed yesterday evening that they were pursuing the case, believe that video evidence will show that foul play occurred.
Meanwhile, the Munster Branch (IRFU) have announced the under-21 management team for next season (2002/2003) and while long standing team manger Ted Mulcahy has stepped down there is a return to representative involvement for former international Philip Danagher (Garryowen). Danagher along with Tom Murphy (Cork Constitution) will assist the management team in identifying players for the squad and in the selection process.
Mulcahy steps down after six years with Shannon's Niall O'Shea succeeding him. Pat Cross continues as coach and will again have Brian Hyland as his assistant
Munster Under-21 Management: Team Manager - Niall O'Shea (Shannon); Team Coach - Pat Cross (Young Munster); Asst Coach -Brian Hyland (UCC); Also Phillip Danagher (Garryowen); Tom Murphy (Cork Constitution).
