Dutch Art stretched his unbeaten record to four with an impressive victory in the Shadwell Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket yesterday.

After being on the heels of the leaders Brave Tin Soldier and Captain Marvelous, Dutch Art quickened when asked for an effort by Frankie Dettori about two furlongs from home.

The 6 to 5 favourite, trained by Peter Chapple-Hyam, held a clear lead over a furlong out and bounded clear to win by two lengths from Wi Dud, with Captain Marvelous a length and a quarter away third.

Chapple-Hyam said: "Fantastic, he just gets better and better. He's a different horse to when he won first time at Windsor, he was small then. He keeps growing and improving all the time."

Chapple-Hyam was the last trainer to complete the Middle Park/2000 Guineas double with Rodrigo de Triano in 1991. The Newmarket trainer added: "This horse is very, very good. I've said it for a long time. He is better on better ground too. I don't think Frankie got serious with him today and he's a serious, serious horse."

Richard Hannon celebrated his first Sky Bet Cheveley Park success as Indian Ink followed up her recent win in the Watership Down Stud Sales race with a thrilling victory at the highest level.

While glory in the Group One contest was a first for Hannon, his filly succeeded by just a neck in denying Brian Meehan his third consecutive win in the race as his Dhanyata was agonisingly outbattled and had to settle for second.

Sander Camillo is now the 3 to 1 favourite for next year's Guineas with Coral, who cut Indian Ink into 20 to 1 from 33s, a move that was mirrored by Ladbrokes and Stan James (from 40), while totesport offer 25 to 1.

"She is a lovely looking filly and there is no reason why she won't get a mile," added Hannon.

"She is out of a Darshaan mare so we'll have to be looking at the 1,000 Guineas."
