Leinster's Owen Finegan was found guilty of stamping by the ERC but received only a 21-day suspension, which began yesterday. It means the former Wallaby flanker is unavailable for tomorrow's Magners Celtic League game against Glasgow at Donnybrook but will return for round three of the European Cup against Agen on December 9th.
Finegan was represented by Leinster Branch member and solicitor Ciarán Callan at the hearing in Dublin. The citing was lodged by John Byett of England, match commissioner for the game in Edinburgh.
Chris Whitaker is "90 per cent" certain to have recovered from nerve damage to his shoulder and was included in Michael Cheika's 25-man squad that is missing Brian O'Driscoll, Gordon D'Arcy, Shane Horgan, Malcolm O'Kelly and Felipe Contepomi because of international duty. Cameron Jowitt, Adam Byrnes and Jonathan Sexton are also named despite injury concerns.
Sexton's impressive kicking return for St Mary's College and Leinster A sees him get an opportunity in Contepomi's absence - although Rob Kearney could be seen practising his place-kicking at Donnybrook yesterday. Ten of the squad, seven starters, are included in the Ireland A team to play Australia at Thomond Park next Wednesday.
